NCTM veteran leads four-lawyer exit to set up boutique

The co-founder of Italian firm NCTM has announced that he will leave the firm, along with an equity partner and two salary partners, to launch a niche practice.

Gianfranco Negri-Clementi will leave NCTM in February 2011 to establish boutique firm Negri-Clementi Studio Legale Associato.

Negri-Clementi’s daughter Annapaola Negri-Clementi – an equity partner at NCTM –and salary partners Gabriele Consiglio and Enrico del Sasso are also leaving to help launch the new firm.

Gianfranco Negri-Clementi established NCTM in 2000 when his firm, Negri-Clementi Montironi & Soci, merged with Toffoletto & Associati.

“We wish Gianfranco every success,” said NCTM partner Anthony Perotto. “We do appreciate Gianfranco’s wishes, in this phase of his professional life, to focus on non-executive directorships and mandates which are, traditionally, better handled by single practitioners or similar outfits.

“We are all extremely thankful to him for the great contribution he has given - both before and after his exit from NCTM partnership in 2006 at the age of 75 – to the NCTM project and for his help making NCTM one of the most structured, institutional and yet dynamic players in the Italian legal market.”

NCTM has around 270 lawyers across six offices: Brussels, London, Milan, Rome, Shanghai and Verona.
