Nauta's new focus spells end for Paris

Nauta's managing partner Job van der Have confirmed that the firm's one Paris-based partner, Dutch lawyer Sierk Bruna, would be returning to the Netherlands. There are no other partners in the office and Van der Have said that Nauta would find “good homes” for all six fee-earners based there.
Nauta's two-partner Madrid practice has been in talks with various international firms with a presence in Madrid about a possible link up, but no decision has been made.
Van der Have said: “We're evaluating Madrid in our strategy. The office has always done well and is still doing well. There is absolutely no discussion of closing it down.”
The practice is on budget to turn over €4m (£2.5m) by the end of this calendar year. It specialises in corporate and tax work.
Van der Have said: “Our strategy has been, and still is, to be at the top of our own markets. France and Spain are not our own markets. That is the reason behind this.”
A decision on Madrid is expected before the end of the year.
