A National Westminster Bank head of legal has joined Creditweb as general counsel.
Roger Tym, who has taken up the newly-created position, was previously senior solicitor and head of retail and services legal team at NatWest, where he was responsible for the legal side of corporate banking, mortgages, insurance, card services and e-commerce.
Tym says he is very excited by the move to the mortgage and consumer finance e-commerce company.
"What's interesting is the wide nature of the role," he says. "At NatWest I was covering retail, intellectual property and all company-wide contracts. In my new job, although I will be covering a narrower range of products, I have a much wider remit.
"My responsibilities range from corporate finance, funding and governance to business development, partnership, joint ventures and employment issues."
Creditweb is expanding across Europe and its chairman, Paul Marks, says that he was impressed with Tym because of his internet experience and his understanding of cross-border legislation and European Commission concerns on consumer protection.
"It is very important to get experienced industry people and Tym has brought with him a unique range of talents," he says.
"We are delighted to have him and he is already making an impression."
