Nabarro Nathanson's senior partner David Bramson is retiring - leaving the firm facing an election to find a replacement.
Partners seeking the role are yet to come forward, but there will be an election within six weeks.
Bramson will retire at the end of the financial year after 32 years at the firm. He joined in 1968 and headed the commercial property department for eight years from 1987 to 1995, when he became senior partner.
He says: "After five years in this position, during which the firm has put itself into an excellent financial position, I feel it will be an appropriate moment to retire at the end of the year.
"It is very gratifying to see our growth strategy working and in place. The firm is now well positioned to capitalise upon sustainable growth opportunities in the future."
Bramson oversaw the 100-partner firm's relocation from the West End to its new Holborn offices.
