Nabarro Nathanson has taken advantage of the departure of its marketing director, Kevin Wheeler, to announce a "reappraisal" of its marketing strategy.
After two years developing the marketing strategy at Nabarros, Wheeler is leaving to embark on a project at venture capital firm Sinven.
Since his appointment at Nabarros, Wheeler has led a number of high-profile marketing ventures. He developed the firm's £50,000 advertising campaign to promote its new National Centre for Law in Industry in Sheffield and he organised the production of the firm's brochure on CD-Rom.
Before joining Nabarros Wheeler was at accountancy firm Coopers & Lybrand.
Nabarros said it was not looking for a replacement. A spokesman said: "We are very sorry to see Kevin go but recognise that, like any professional, he is taking on new challenges and opportunities. We will reappraise our marketing strategy before making any definite plans."
Wheeler's departure is the latest in a series of moves by law firm marketing directors who are changing firms or branching out into other sectors.
Among the most recent moves are those of Stuart Benson, who left Dibb Lupton Broomhead in June to set up his own crisis management practice, Judith Showan who departed from Leeds firm Booth & Co to go into teaching, and Hamish Munro who moved to Eversheds from Davies Arnold Cooper in January.
Wheeler looks likely to leave for his new job at the end of the summer.
