Construction disputes specialist Steven Williams is set to rejoin BLP’s former head of construction Terry Fleet, who left BLP for Nabarros in December 2002.
While a start date has yet to be finalised, it is expected that Williams, who was made up to the BLP partnership last year, will start at Nabarros in July.
Among his roster of clients, Williams has acted for Ove Arup & Partners, Wembley National Stadium and Amec Developments on a range of construction and engineering disputes.
Fleet, Nabarros’ head of construction and engineering, said: “We have a commitment to growing our construction and engineering practice, so to have someone of Steven’s calibre is very exciting for us.”
The hire is a fillip for Nabarros’ construction team, taking the number of partners in the group to five, and follows a string of recent partner-level lateral hires in M&A and finance.
Last month, the firm raided the beleaguered Tite & Lewis, capturing a team led by highly rated banking partner Charles Proctor and M&A specialist Andrea Cropley. The pair took with them asset-based lending client Burdale.
Elsewhere, Nabarros is boosting its pensions team with the appointment of Linklaters associate Carol Jones as a partner in its Sheffield office.
