NABARRO NATHANSON property specialist Susan McKenna is to head the firm's northern practice.
McKenna, who is already head of property for the firm's northern offices, will be playing a major part in the expansion of its Sheffield operation.
The firm is set to take up 40,000 square feet of office space in Sheffield's Victoria Quays by the end of the year.
The move will see Sheffield staff levels swell from 40 to 180, but it will also mean the closure of Nabarros' Doncaster office.
McKenna's post is a new one and she will have a strategic role in the development of the firm's regional, national and international business.
A major task will be the setting up of a National Centre for Law in Industry at the new Sheffield premises.
McKenna says the centre will be drawing together under one roof many of the firm's specialist industrial lawyers.
Although her new role will be managerial, she is determined to continue with legal work. “I find it is the easiest way of keeping in touch with the business world,” she says.
