So Nabarro continues with its cautious attitude towards internal promotions, making up a modest five this year. Though it has promoted more in the past. Last year there were a jaw-dropping seven! Must be difficult squeezing them all round the table at the local for a responsibly-drunk, sensibly-priced bottle of organically-sourced Fairtrade wine. Or alternatively, a couple of tinnies. Nabarro's otherwise slow-and-steady promotion round was enlivened by the fact that two of the five are from the Antipodes. Nick Burt is a Kiwi, while Darren Stolzenberg hails from Australia, homeland of Nabarro senior partner Simon Johnston. Quizzed on whether their origin gave the pair a headstart, Johnston blushes redder than Uluru at sunset. 'I hadn't even thought of that, we thought we'd ticked all the boxes,' he said, flustered. Two Antipodeans, two women and someone from up North.Nabarro's frugal promotion round may be small, but it certainly is diverse.
