Nabarro promotes five to partner" />Nabarro has promoted five associates to the partnership this year, two down on last year's total of seven.
Senior partner Simon Johnston recognised that the total was not as high as in some of his firm's City competitors, but argued that the conservative figure was still "positive in this market," emphasising that it was related to the cycle of associates coming through and the business case.
Three of the five to be made up are real estate specialists, in line with last year's numbers which saw three out of the seven being promoted in that group. Chris Chambers has an investment focussed practice, Marie Scott works on investment and development and Darren Stolzenberg in corporate real estate and indirect investment.
The other two partners are in tax and employment. These are Nick Burt and Catherine Richmond respectively.
Chambers is the only one of the five to be based in Sheffield - a statistic that is proportionate to the amount of work generated out of that office (around 20 per cent). However, Johnston was keen to point out that volumes of work do not factor in the decision to promote or not: "We don't look at the business case in that way. We look at the strength of the individuals and the practice area."
