Nabarro senior partner Simon Johnston has been re-appointed for a third term, meaning he will stay in post until 2016.
Johnston was elected unopposed for a new term commencing on 1 May and lasting for five years. Johnston, who qualified in Australia, joined Nabarro in 1986 and became a partner in its corporate department in 1990.
He commented: “I’m delighted to have been re-appointed for what will, I believe, be an exciting period for the firm. These are challenging times, both from a market and regulatory perspective.
“We have a clear strategy that has seen the firm’s reputation and client base grow and diversify over the last decade and, notwithstanding the downturn, we’ve continued to invest in our people and our clients, including the recent opening of our Singapore office. As the market recovers, we look forward to benefiting from those investments.”
Johnston joined the firm’s board in 1997 and first became senior partner in 2001. He is responsible for developing the strategic direction of the firm, overseeing its implementation and representing the firm to the marketplace.
Managing partner Nicole Paradise’s current three-year term, which is a board appointment, expires in July 2011.
