LONDON
• Goodman Derrick has recruited former LG dispute resolution partner Clive Ince and employment partner Alison Downie from Bindmans.
• London-based dispute resolution partner Mark Lloyd-Williams has been appointed as head of contentious construction at Herbert Smith.
• Shearman & Sterling has promoted two lawyers to counsel in the London office: Azad Ali in financial institutions and Colin Tan in acquisition and leveraged finance.
• WilmerHale has announced that three of its London lawyers have been promoted to counsel. They are: Suzanne Spears and Kenneth Beale in litigation, and Patricia McDermott in corporate.
• London-based aviation specialist Gates and Partners has promoted Matthew Mace and Singapore-based Peter Boys to partner.
• King & Spalding has hired James Bremen as a partner in the corporate group. He was previously at Maxwell Winward.
• Taylor Wessing has appointed Kathryn
Graves as head of HR and development. She was
previously head of HR for the Europe, Middle East and Africa region at real estate group DTZ.

• Bristol-headquartered Bond Pearce has strengthened its oil and gas team with the appointment of senior consultant Sue Mobed, who previously worked in-house for Schlumberger.
MIDLANDS AND WALES
• David Lindsay has joined Cardiff firm Kingslegal as chairman. He was previously group operations director for accident management company Helphire.
• Warwickshire firm Alsters Kelley has hired Andrew Watts as an assistant in the company commercial department. He was previously with Shakespeare Putsman in Birmingham.
• Weightmans has raided regional rival Needham & James for a corporate team, led by partners Gareth Griffiths and Barry Doherty. Associate Melanie Mitulla is also joining the firm.
• Christine McElroy, Bevan Brittan’s former head of tax, has joined law firm Clarke Willmott as a partner.
NORTH
• Insurance partner Peter Goodwill has moved from Berrymans Lace Mawer to the Leeds office of DWF. He joins as a partner in the insurance team.
• Manchester-based Glaisyers has recruited Gemma Sargent from Cobbetts. She joins the commercial property practice as an assistant.
• Carlisle firm Burnetts has hired Angela Curran from Irwin Mitchell, where she was a partner. She joins as a partner in the clinical negligence team.
EUROPE
• Diederik Stols has joined Amsterdam media/IP boutique Boekx Advocaten as a partner, having left DLA Piper, where he headed the Amsterdam media and entertainment practice.
• Dewey & LeBoeuf has recruited Christophe Salamon as a partner in the Paris corporate practice. He was previously a partner in the Paris office of Clifford Chance.
• There were six new partners made up at Gide Loyrette Nouel this month, including one in London: Margaret Boswell in finance. The remaining promotions are: Jean-Gabriel Flandrois (Paris), Julien David (Casablanca) and Axelle Toulemonde (Moscow) in corporate, Nick Tse (Paris) in litigation, and Rebecca Silli (Hong Kong) in project finance.
• Dutch firm Loyens & Loeff has promoted six new partners: Roderik Beckers, Hans van Ruiten, Ynze can der Tempel and Marcel Buur in tax, Thierry Lohest in corporate, and Jurriaan van der Stok in real estate.
• Clifford Chance has hired Carlo Galli as a partner in Italy. He joins from Maisto e Associati and will establish a tax practice for Clifford Chance in Italy.
• Hendrik Viaene has been promoted to partner in the Brussels office of Stibbe. He will work in the competition practice.
• Irish firm A&L Goodbody has taken on insolvency partner Mark Traynor from Maples
& Calder.
ASIA AND MIDDLE EAST
• Herbert Smith has established two new management roles in Asia. Corporate partner Andrew Tortoishell becomes Greater China managing partner and Austin Sweeney becomes South East Asia managing partner.
• DLA Piper has announced the hire of Kit Kwok as a partner in the Shanghai corporate group. Prior to this, he was legal counsel and chief executive of Roosevelt Sino Retailers.
• Hadef Legal Consultants in the United Arab Emirates has appointed two new partners: Omar Al Shaikh in litigation and maritime specialist Erik Muthow.
US
• Former Dewey & LeBoeuf litigation partner Patrick Gennardo has moved to Lovells, where he joins the New York disputes team.
• Ottawa firm Perley-Robertson Hill & McDougall has launched an international arbitration group with the hire of partner Andrew de Lotbinière McDougall from White & Case.
• Debevoise & Plimpton has promoted John Anderson, Neil Chang, Nathan Parker and Victor Snegirev to international counsel. Anderson and Parker are based in London, Snegirev in Moscow and Chang in Hong Kong.
OFFSHORE
• Ozannes’ Guernsey branch has promoted two of its senior associates. Christopher Edwards is now a partner in the litigation team and Andrew Walters has been promoted in corporate. The firm has also hired Matthew Jowitt as a litigation partner. He was previously a crown advocate at the Law Officers Department.

• Property, planning and environment specialist Landmark Chambers has taken on barrister Toby Watkin, who joins from 42 Bedford Row.
• Robert Palmer has accepted tenancy at Monckton Chambers. He was previously at
4-5 Gray’s Inn Square.
• Charles Mynors of Francis Taylor Building has been elected to a fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
