Herbert Smith Freehills has hired two partners. Louis de Longeaux (pictured) joins the firm’s Paris office from Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe, where he has been a partner since 2007 working on debt and equity-linked capital markets. Amy Geddes joins from Linklaters, where she was a managing associate. Her main area of focus is advising on debt, equity-linked and hybrid capital securities issues, and she will be based in London.
Trowers & Hamlins has appointed partner Alex Burton to its dispute resolution and litigation department. Burton is the second commercial litigation partner to join the firm since January. He joins from Reed Smith, where he was a partner in the firm’s EME commercial disputes group.
Jones Day has appointed Karim Mahmud as a projects and infrastructure partner in its London office. He was previously a partner in the London and Bahrain offices of Blake Cassels and Graydon.
Karen Kirkham has joined Edwin Coe’s property group as a construction partner from HowardKennedyFsi, where she was head of construction.
Stowe Family Law has promoted Paul Read to partner in the London office. Read was called to the bar in 2004 and joined Stowe to retrain as a solicitor in 2009.
RPC has hired Jonathan Cary as a partner in the banking and financial litigation team. He joins RPC’s London office from Shearman & Sterling, where he specialised in financial litigation.
Berrymans Lace Mawer has appointed partner Daniel Thomas to the national fraud team. He joins from Browne Jacobson, where he was an associate. He will advise clients on a multitude of cases, ranging from policyholder fraud, bogus claims, exaggerated injury, staged accidents and large scale fraud rings.
Morgan Lewis & Bockius has appointed Mathew Kidwell as an energy transactions partner. Kidwell has joined the business and finance practice in London. He was previously a partner at K&L Gates’ London office.
GSC Solicitors has appointed partner Kevin Bichard and senior associate Carole Joseph. Both join the real estate team, Joseph from Quastel Midgen where she was a consultant and Bichard from HowardKennedyFsi, where he was a partner.
Stowe Family Law has promoted David Milburn to managing partner for the Cheshire area. He will oversee the Wilmslow and Hale offices. He joined Stowe as a specialist family lawyer in 2010. Elizabeth Bell has been promoted a s a partner in the Harrogate office. She joined Stowe Law as a trainee in 2007.
Howes Percival has hired Stephanie Howe as an associate in its Northampton family law team. Howe qualified in 2004 and previosuly worked for Hawkins Family Law.
Dental negligence firm the Dental Law Partnership has appointed dento-legal adviser Helen Croxford to the clinical team in the firm’s Elstree office. She was formerly a dentist.
Arnold & Porter has hired James Walther as senior counsel in its corporate and securities and financial services practices in Los Angeles. He joins from Mayer Brown’s LA office, where he was leader of the corporate and securities practice.
Squire Sanders has hired international corporate and technology partner Richard Horton. Horton will splitting his time between Sydney and Silicon Valley. Dual-qualified in the US and Australia, Horton joins from the Silicon Valley office of DLA Piper.
K&L Gates in Miami has appointed Kevin Ross-Andino as a partner in its commercial disputes practice. Ross-Andino joins the firm from Foley & Lardner , where he was partner.
In Nashvillle, Littler Mendelson has appointed Jocelyn Stevenson as a labour, employment and business immigration partner. Stevenson was previously a partner with Bradley Arant Boult Cummings.
Holman Fenwick Willan has moved senior insurance and reinsurance associate Geoffrey Conlin to São Paulo. Conlin has an MA in Portuguese and Spanish. He moves from the firm’s London office.
In Singapore, Baker & McKenzie Wong & Leow has appointed Peter Tan to its tax practice. He joins from PricewaterhouseCoopers, Singapore, where he was a senior tax partner. He advises various industries on M&A, restructuring, joint ventures and franchising and distribution transactions.
Holman Fenwick Willan Hong Kong shipping partner Paul Apostolis is moving to its Singapore office in April.
Minter Ellison has hired Paul King as a senior tax counsel. Based in the Sydney office, King joins from Greenwoods & Freehills, where he was a director.
Corrs Chambers Westgarth has appointed James Minchinton as an energy and resources partner in Brisbane. He joins from Clayton Utz, where he was of counsel.
Peter Bradley has joined Hong Kong firm Howse Williams Bowers as a partner. Bradley is a former SStephenson Harwood London corporate partner who previously worked in Hong Kong for a decade, for Stephenson Harwood & Lo.
Bedell Cristin has hired Peter Bertram as a partner in Jersey. Bertram will practice commercial property law and joins from Ogier, where he has been a partner since 1986. The firm has also appointed associate Paul Lewis and advocate Rupert Morris to its Guernsey’s litigation practice. Lewis joins from St John’s Chambers in Bristol and Morris previously worked at Ogier.
Forbes Hare has added associate Christina Kish to its Cayman Islands office. Kish trained in London at Coudert Brothers and subsequently worked at Norton Rose, where she was a litigator. She joins from the Cayman office of Ogier.
Dillon Eustace has appointed Derbhil as a partner in its recently established Cayman office. O’Riordan previously worked at the firm’s Dublin headquarters and will continue to work for its hedge funds practice, servicing both Irish and Cayman funds.
