Bird & Bird has taken on IP partner Allan Poulter from Field Fisher Waterhouse (FFW). He brings experience in trademarks, brand clearance, protection, exploitation and enforcement. Poulter spent some time heading FFW’s India desk and says that Bird & Bird’s global reach was a big factor in the move.

Bankruptcy and restructuring lawyer Paul Atherton has joined Kaye Scholer as a partner in its London office from a partner role with Kirkland & Ellis in London.
Michelmores has hired banking partner Chris Willison from Blake Lapthorn, where he was head of the asset-basd lending team, and restructuring and insolvency associate Alex Wood who joins from Addleshaw Goddard, where he was a managing associate.
CMS Cameron McKenna has appointed partners Peter Crichton and Ashley Smith to its banking and international finance team. Crichton was a partner with DLA Piper and Smith was formerly a corporate recovery and restructuring partner who returns after a one-year career break in France.
Jane Moorman, the former head of employment at Howard Kennedy and a former partner at Pinsent Masons, has joined Virtual Law as a consultant solicitor.
Corporate law consultant Lorna Palmer has joined Graeme Quar & Co. Palmer previously worked in the corporate law team at Mundays in Surrey.
Family law specialist Fiona Lazenby has joined Midlands law firm Cartwright King to head the family department. She was previously the head of the family department at Flint Bishop.
Watson Burton has boosted its professions and insurance team with associate Michelle Levin. She was a partner with Levi Solicitors.
The Manchester office of Irwin Mitchell has boosted its business legal services team with the appointment of insolvency solicitor Nicole Spratling. She joins from George Davies, where she was a solicitor.
Clough & Willis has restructured its private client department, promoting Helen Webster to associate. Solicitor Karen Yates has also joined the team.
Holman Fenwick Willan has recruited Pierre-Etienne Kuehn to its insurance and reinsurance practice in Paris. He joins from AXA Group,where he was head of legal and compliance.
Graf von Westphalen has hired Noerr lawyer Joachim Mulch as an IP/IT partner in its new Düsseldorf office.
Willkie Farr & Gallagher has hired partner Fabrice Cohen to its Paris office. He was previously a partner at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, where he served as the corporate practice group leader in the firm’s Paris office and was a member of the firm’s worldwide corporate administrative group.
The Dubai office of K&L Gates has appointed Natalie Boyd as a partner in its finance practice. She joins from Simmons & Simmons.
William Jay, assistant to the US solicitor general, is joining Goodwin Procter’s litigation practice as partner in the Washington DC office.
Milbank Tweed Hadley & McCloy has taken on Carlos Albarracín to work in its New York global securities group. He arrives from Chadbourne & Parke, where he was also a partner.
Weil Gotshal & Manges’ Richard Ginsburg, a partner in the firm’s banking and finance practice, has returned to the firm’s Dallas office after spending eight years in the London office and four years in New York.
