Tesco head of corporate, commercial and litigation Deborah Prince has resigned to take up a post at the Consumers' Association as its head of legal. Prince had been with the retailer for six years and was looking for a new challenge.
BT has ramped up its in-house capability across the legal function as part of its adjustment to the new Openreach division. BT's Wholesale division, which provides network services, has set up a new assets and transactions commercial team with the hires of Thomas Bucknall, the former European counsel of flat-screen TV technology developer ViewSonic, and Chris Bene, who was previously part of the legal team at Eurotunnel.
Russian natural gas giant Gazprom has a new head of legal for its UK arm, Gazprom Marketing and Trading, with Jacqueline Hill taking the post from Carole Colley. Hill joins from energy rival EDF Energy, where she was a member of the legal and compliance group. Colley, who was brought in to establish the UK legal function, is looking at other roles.
