Manches has recruited a new partner to head its IT and outsourcing practice in the Thames Valley region.
Move of the week
Sam De Silva joins from Hertfordshire firm Taylor Walton, where he was lead partner in the technology and outsourcing group. Prior to joining Taylor Walton he worked for Nabarro and Pinsent Masons. De Silva specialises in system development and supply, system integration, software licensing and support and services agreements.
McClure Naismith has bagged a restructuring and insolvency partner for its London office. Mark Parkhouse joins from McGrigors, where he headed the restructuring team.
Brown Rudnick has announced that Alper Deniz has joined the firm as a partner in
the European bankruptcy and corporate restructuring group. Deniz comes from Chadbourne & Parke, where he was a partner.
Irwin Mitchell has enhanced its real estate practice with the appointment of Holly Trotman to the firm’s planning team. Trotman joins as an associate from Nabarro, where she held the same position.
Rahman Ravelli has appointed Christiana Hayward-Kourabas to head its fraud and regulatory team at its new London base.
Prior to this she was a solicitor at Garstangs.
Nick Goldstone has joined Davenport Lyons as a partner in the firm’s dispute resolution department. He comes from Magrath, where he was a partner.
Claus Andersen, a Danish corporate and commercial partner, has joined Royds. He
comes from Miller Rosenfalck, where he was an associate.
Stones has netted John Turnbull as a partner and head of employment law. He joins from BPE, where he was an employment law partner.
Roythornes has announced the promotion of associates Martin Jinks and Deborah Brown to the partnership to strengthen the commercial team. The firm has also appointed Emma Hill and Alice Lees as solicitors in its agricultural property team.
Bury-based Clough & Willis has strengthened its private client team with the appointment of Helen Webster as head of department. Webster joins from Walker Morris in Leeds, where she worked as a solicitor for five years.
Dewey & LeBoeuf has hired litigation and arbitration partner Nane Oganesyan from Norton Rose to head the Russia and CIS dispute resolution practice group based in Moscow. Oganesyan was a senior associate at Norton Rose. Norton Rose associate Dmitry Ivanov is also joining Dewey.
Watson Farley & Williams has recruited partner Charles Viggers to its aviation team in Paris. Viggers comes from Clifford Chance, where he was a counsel.
Salans has appointed Ilya Skripnikov as a new counsel to its Russian and CIS infrastructure and public private partnership practice. Skripnikov will be based in Salans’ Moscow office and joins from Magisters, where he was a counsel.
Ellen Soerjatin has joined Dutch boutique Stek as a corporate litigation partner. Prior to the move Soerjatin was a partner at DLA Piper in the Netherlands, where she headed the litigation and regulatory practice group.
White & Case has hired Assimakis Komninos as a partner based in the firm’s Brussels office. For the past two years Komninos acted as a commissioner and member of the board of the Hellenic Competition Commission in Athens.
Olivier Vermeulen has moved to SJ Berwin’s banking and finance team in Paris. He comes from Latham & Watkins, where he was counsel in the firm’s Doha office.
Harneys has boosted its litigation and restructuring desk in Hong Kong with the hire
of Adrienne Chan, who joins as a legal assistant. Chan comes from Jones Day, where she was a litigation associate.
Katten Muchin Rosenman has hired lawyer David Weisman for the Chigaco office to focus on white-collar criminal litigation and insurance and healthcare fraud. Prio to this, Weisman served as senior litigation counsel at the US Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Illinois.
K&L Gates’ Boston office has hired partner Luke Cadigan in the government enforcement practice. He joins from the US Securities and Exchange Commission’s enforcement division, where he was assistant director of the Boston office and the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act unit.
Partners Alan Cohen and Mark Kreitman have joined Nixon Peabody’s tax credit finance and syndication team. They most recently Paul Hastings’ affordable housing tax credit team.
Janet McQuaid has returned to Fulbright & Jaworski’s Pennsylvania office as an environmental law partner. She was a partner
in the firm’s Austin office for seven years before going in-house at El Paso Corporation in 2008.
Siqueira Castro Advogados has hired Jorge Henrique Amaral Zaninetti as a partner in its São Paulo tax litigation group. He was previously a partner at TozziniFreire Advogados.
Ogier has named Matthew Swan as managing partner of Ogier Jersey Legal, replacing Matthew Thompson. Swan is head of the business and trust law group and the Jersey banking team.
Harneys trusts lawyer Henry Mander has relocated to the Cayman Islands where he will continue to advise the firm’s international client base on offshore trusts.
