Offshore law firm Mourant du Feu & Jeune is launching a Guernsey office in January as it expands its multi-jurisdictional capabilities.
The Guernsey operation will bring Mourant’s office tally to four including Jersey, Cayman Islands and London.
Mourant is part of the offshore magic circle, the set of firms that have legal expertise in more than one of the offshore jurisdictions. Other firms in this group include Ogier, Walkers, Appleby Spurling Hunter and Maples and Calder.
In other offshore news, rivals Ogier have announced they are to operate under one name for all jurisdictions and business lines. At the moment the Ogier network comprises Ogier & Le Masurier, Ogier & Boxalls on the legal side and Ogier Fiduciary Services. From November 1 all these firms will operate as Ogier.
