Berrymans, Ricksons and Simpson & Marwick have won places on the Motor Insurers’ Bureau (MIB) panel.
After a tender process, four firms were appointed by MIB for a three year period with Weightmans, which has acted for MIB for 15 years, the only firm re-appointed to the panel.
MIB’s chief executive Ashton West said: “We believe that this smaller panel of solicitors, with their excellent track records and proven capabilities, will help us to improve our operations while significantly reducing costs.”
MIB is a private company which was established in 1946, with the purpose of entering into agreements with the Government, to compensate the victims of negligent uninsured and untraced motorists.
Weightmans’ MIB’s client partner David Holt said in a statement: “We are the only firm on the existing main panel for England and Wales to have retained our place and it is a great testament to the work that our technical claims and large loss teams have put in for many years.”
