Morgan Stanley banking ace joins Dechert

Morgan Stanley’s former global capital markets group director Andrew Case has joined Dechert as a corporate counsel.

Case, who spent 13 years with the bank in Hong Kong and London, has joined Dechert’s London corporate and securities practice to build up relationships between the firm and the investment banking community.

“I’m going to be working in the US corporate group, but trying to get closer to investment banks,” said Case. “I have some relationships with Bear Stears, Lehman Brothers and Merrill Lynch, but we’re trying to do something more organised.”

Case will work alongside Doug Getter, head of the US corporate group in Europe, and London corporate and securities head James Croock.

Case has also worked for Merrill Lynch, Baker & McKenzie and Rogers & Wells.
