MORGAN Lewis has strengthened its international anti-trust practice with the recruitment of anti-cartel enforcer Julian Joshua from the European Commission to its Brussels office.
Joshua was deputy head of the cartel unit of the competition directorate. He constructed the commission's techniques for investigating and litigating cartel cases, and acted as lead counsel on its major prosecutions. He will hand over high-profile cases involving vitamin producers, as well as Sotheby's and Christie's auction houses, to his colleagues at the commission.
Joshua says: "I've very much enjoyed my career in public service, but have achieved my objectives. The European Commission is now firmly on the map as one of the world's leading competition enforcement agencies, and it is now time for me to take a up a fresh challenge. "
Joshua's arrival on 1 November will take the firm's Brussels partner count to four. Izzet Sinan is the only other anti-trust partner at the office.
