Morgan Cole in Cardiff is taking on a top healthcare partner from regional rival Bevan Ashford.
Tessa Shellens is joining the firm's highly-regarded group in Wales, where she will work in all areas from PFI to property and clinical governance.
She left Bevan Ashford at the beginning of this month, and says she is making the move because she wants to be part of the biggest health practice in Wales.
She says: "This is a time of new challenges in the profession brought about by huge changes in the NHS. Joining Morgan Cole is an excellent opportunity for me to meet those challenges."
The health group at Morgan Cole has 15 partners and a total of 30 fee earners spread across Wales. It acts for four of the major NHS trusts in the country, and one of its biggest other clients is the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority.
Graham Miles, head of the health group, says: "Tessa's appointment is part of Morgan Cole's continuing success in the health sector in Wales, and she will be instrumental in our plans for growth."
