Morgan Cole PI ace defects to rival firm

Senior Morgan Cole partner Philip Anderson has left the firm's Cardiff office to join a smaller set-up in the city.

Anderson will continue to specialise in personal injury work at Palser Grossman where he becomes the firm's 20th partner.

Anderson was with Morgan Cole for 17 years but was not part of the sweeping management review announced last year which saw more than 10 per cent of partners get the chop.

He says he welcomes the move because of the more personal atmosphere at the smaller firm, but that his work will largely remain the same.

“Reorganisations and reviews do not do much for overall morale but I don't want to complain about Morgan Cole. I arranged to move before all that happened,” he says.

“Now I am working on keeping this firm on insurers' panels.

“Insurers have put their solicitors through the mill a bit over the past few years and people have had to worry about whether they will stay on panels.”

Anderson helped to establish the personal injury department at Morgan Cole, and specialises in claims involving respiratory diseases, fatal accidents and paraplegia.

Palser Grossman's clients include CGU, AXA, Royal & SunAlliance, Admiral, Eagle Star Direct, Zurich Personal, Zurich Commercial and Zurich International.
