M4 corridor firm Morgan Cole is consolidating its top 25 position by bolstering its London practice with a further merger.
In June, City insurance litigation firm Fishburn Boxer will merge with Morgan Cole, whose practice stretches from London through the Thames Valley to Wales.
The 12-partner Fishburn Boxer part of the practice will then be christened Fishburn Morgan Cole. The total Morgan Cole partner count will reach 100, with up to 700 staff.
Morgan Cole's drive to grow through merger shows no sign of abating. It is only six months since it was formed from a merger between Morgan Bruce and Cole & Cole.
Andrew Davis, senior partner at Fishburn Boxer, says the merger will strengthen infrastructure and resources.
He says savings will be passed on to clients, giving the firm an advantage over other City firms. He adds: "The merger will enable us to further develop our existing core insurance business and strengthen our position in the London legal market."
Morgan Cole's joint chairman Guy Clarke says: "We believe there is a good cultural fit between the two firms."
