Moore Blatch launches City office

Hampshire firm Moore Blatch has hired corporate finance partner Stephen Clow from DMH Stallard to launch a new London office.

The City office will be Moore Blatch’s fifth location in the UK, following Richmond, Southampton, Lymington and Whiteley. The new office will focus on capitalising on the increasingly active AIM and ISDX markets.

Clow, who joined the firm as a corporate partner from the London office of DMH Stallard, will lead the new base. Clow has advised public, private and corporate companies on a wide range of transactions for 30 years and has a particular interest in AIM listings.

The firm reported a 2 per cent increase in both revenue and net profit for 2012/13, with turnover standing at £20m and net profit being £3.8m. During the past year, the firm has also grown its lawyer headcount by 30 per cent from 66 to 86. It also added five to its partners ranks, with only one being equity partner. The firm currently has 29 partners, 11 of whom are equity partners.

In recent years DMH Stallard, which has offices in London, Gatwick and Brighton, has repositioned and gradually shifted its focus to the Gatwick office. Last September, the firm merged with Surrey-based property and private client firm Callaghans (3 September 2012). In May, DMH signed a strategic alliance with Riverview Law, a fixed-priced legal services business. The firm’s revenue for 2011/12 was £19.4m.
