Morrison & Foerster's (MoFo) Hong Kong office has recruited a Coudert Brothers partner as it undergoes a management shakeup.
Venantius Tan has been with US firm Couderts since 1993, working in the New York and Hong Kong offices, but will now join technology specialist MoFo. Tan concentrates on corporate and securities work, acting mainly for Hong Kong and mainland China-based clients, but he has recently been developing a technology client base as well.
His recruitment coincides with the appointment of private equity partner Robert Woll as MoFo's Hong Kong managing partner. Woll takes over from Jonathan Lemberg, who is returning to fee-earning. Lemberg specialises in international corporate deals.
Tan, who is qualified to practise in Hong Kong, the US and the UK, says: "MoFo presented an opportunity to participate in developing its Hong Kong capital markets practices. The firm's platform and wide resources make the expansion an attractive and practical undertaking."
