MoFo beefs up entertainment team with Sony hire

Morrison & Foerster has hired the former general counsel of Sony Music.

Lisa Weiss, who joins the firm’s New York office as a partner, was general counsel of Sony Music prior to its merger with entertainment rival BMG last year.

She was also formerly a corporate partner at New York-based Rosenman & Colin, where she founded the firm’s media and communications group.

Also joining MoFo is Bingham McCutchen corporate finance partner Craig Leonard, a transactional lawyer with 30-years experience, who joins as of counsel.

Before joining Bingham, Leonard was managing partner and chair of the corporate department at New York firm Richards & O’Neil.
