MICHAEL Gleeson, former head of insolvency at Mishcon de Reya, has been snapped
up by City firm Speechly Bircham.
The Lawyer reported in November that five partners, including Gleeson, were set to leave Mishcons. At the time, Gleeson was in discussions with a number of firms.
The Mishcons exodus follows restructuring and the implementation of a controversial remuneration system.
Former Mishcons partner Mimi Curran joined Paisner & Co as a senior assistant in December. She was followed last month by Mishcons' former head of media Jonathan Cameron. Then, this month Maggie Rae joined Elizabeth Vernon and two former Mishcons assistants at Clintons.
Gleeson joins Speechly's commercial dispute resolution group as part of the firm's drive to build its litigation practice. Speechly is in the market for partners, with "one or two in the pipeline".
