Law firms from across the globe met up in London last month at the behest of Washington firm, Cohen Milstein Hausfeld & Toll who reportedly dreamed up the class action offensive.
Mishcons will oversee litigation against international cartels and anti-competitive conduct in Britain and Europe, while responsibility for the US actions will be split between Cohens and at least nine other American firms.
Panama-based firm Morgan & Morgan will head it up litigation in the Caribbean and Latin and South America and India's Udwadia Udeshi Berjis will be in charge of suits in India.
The first class actions are expected to be announced later this month but no specific targets have yet been named.
The suits will reportedly include antitrust claims, claims of misrepresentation and fraud against the farmer-plaintiffs. Possible environmental, health and ecological claims may also be filed
