Mishcon de Reya has completed its first major corporate deal for Danish brewery Royal Unibrew. The successful $22.3m (£11.49m) acquisition of Dominica Brewery & Beverages, Antigua Brewery and Antigua PET Plant represents a good return for Mishcon.
In particular the deal is good news for corporate partner Larry Nathan, who has advised Royal Unibrew on corporate and commercial matters for several years.
That initial instruction for a disposal is still ongoing, but the relationship between Royal Unibrew and Nathan is clearly robust enough for the brewer to turn to Mishcon when the Dominican and Antiguan deals cropped up.
Nathan was assisted by associate Craig Timmis on the deal, while Thomas John & Co Chambers acted as Antiguan counsel and Emanuel & Isidore Chambers was the Dominican counsel.
