Mishcon de Reya has bolstered its corporate practice with the appointment of two partners from US firm Kilpatrick Stockton. Nick Davis and Susan Breen, both partners at the Atlanta firm’s London office, will join Mishcon as partners in the corporate department later this month.
Davis specialises in M&A and corporate work, with a particular focus on the recruitment, IP and technology sectors. Breen is a corporate finance partner whose main focus is on the gaming, technology and logistics sectors.
Mishcon head of corporate Richard Tyler said the appointments were the result of several years spent actively trying to recruit Davis and Breen, and followed a strategy of rapid growth for the corporate department.
However, the departures are in stark contrast to the aggressive recruitment drive at Kilpatrick’s London arm.
In September, the firm hired former Clifford Chance partner Mary O’Connor, who joined the litigation department, along with IP partners Helen Newman and Christ-opher Woods, both from Simmons & Simmons.
Kilpatrick executive member Jeb Jeutter said the departures were amicable and the firm wished both Davis and Breen well.
