Minter Ellison partner earns judicial appointment

Australian law firm Minter Ellison’s Brisbane chairman of partners Andrew Greenwood has been appointed as a judge of the Federal Court of Australia.

Greenwood will be sworn in to the role on 4 August. He replaces Justice Richard Cooper, who passed away in March.

Greenwood has subsequently stood down from his roles at Minter Ellison as chairman of partners and head of the competition and regulatory policy practice in Brisbane after 25 years at the firm.

He first joined the Australian heavyweight in 1980 when the firm’s Brisbane presence was known as Morris Fletcher & Cross.
