Australian firm Minter Ellison has bulked up its London corporate team with the addition of a partner from Mayer Brown.
Michael Wallin, an Australian trained and qualified corporate lawyer who currently serves as a partner in Mayer Brown’s London office, will join Minters on 1 November.
He is experienced in corporate finance, private equity, M&A and outsourcing. During his tenure with Mayer Brown he has served as lead partner of the firm’s China focus group in London. He will contribute to the further development of Minters’ business in Asia in his new role.
Wallin will be Minters’ third London partner, joining Michael Whalley and Nigel Clark. His appointment will also strengthen the Australian law offering of the firm’s London office, which was established in 1974.
In a statement the firm’s chief executive partner John Weber said: “The
London office has played a key role in the firm’s international network since it was established over 30 years ago.
“[Wallin] will make an important contribution to the continuing success of our London office and to the firm’s international strategy.”
