Mills & Reeve is set to almost double its office space in Birmingham, signing a lease on 20,000 sq ft of space in the city centre.
The Cambridge-based firm will take three floors at 84 Colmore Row. Mills & Reeve has occupied its current 11,000 sq ft premises for the past three years, during which time staff numbers have grown from 79 to 103.
The new premises have capacity for 225 staff.
Mills & Reeve managing partner Mark Jeffries said the move was part of a long-term strategy for expansion in Birmingham. “Our aim is to eventually grow Birmingham to the size of our Cambridge office,” he said.
The strategy has seen a string of lateral hires in Birmingham. In May, former Martineau Johnson private client partner Matthew Hansell joined the firm and last year saw the launch of corporate capability in Birmingham with the hire of former Garretts partner Tim Winn and Peter Manford from Eversheds.
