Mills & Reeve adds Kennedys partner to insurance team

Mills & Reeve has made its fifth lateral hire this year with the appointment of insurance partner Paul Spibey.
Spibey, who joins the firm after a 10-year stint at Kennedys, has been tasked with building Mills & Reeve’s new financial institutions practice.
He is particularly noted for his work advising financial institutions and their insurers, particularly in relation to trustee liability claims as well his experience of fraudulent claims within the financial services industry.
Commenting on the appointment, Mills & Reeve insurance head Neil Davis said that Spibey’s addition would significantly enhance Mills & Reeve’s reputation in the insurance market.
In the last two years the firm has doubled the size of its northern insurance practice, growing from eight to 16 lawyers.
