Midlands firm MFG Solitors has merged with Simon Bishop & Partners, in a bid to strengthen its commercial property practice.
MFG Solicitors officially acquired the two-partner Droitwich firm on January 1.
Simon Bishop & Partners former managing partner Simon Bishop will work with MFG on a consultancy basis and Simon Cook was appointed as a partner.
Simon Bishop & Partners has built up a niche practice, specialising in working for commercial property developers and also advising on the property issues relating to care homes.
MFG managing partner Maynard Burton said the move was in line with the firm’s strategy to expand its commercial property department.
"This acquisition is part of the firm's continued plan to build a strong regional presence and develop key work areas,” he said. "Simon Bishop & Partners is primarily a commercial property firm with key developer clients with also some company commercial work."
MFG Solicitors has offices in Halesowen, Telford, Bromsgrove, Worcester, Wellington, Kidderminster, Stourport-on-Severn, Newport, Bewdley, Cleobury Mortimer and Oswestry.
Earlier this year, MFG Solicitors was created from the merged practices of Worcestershire and West Midlands law firm Morton Fisher and Gwynnes of Shropshire.
