West Midlands law firm Morton Fisher is to merge with Shropshire law firm to Gwynnes create a new combined entity, MFG Solicitors.
The merger, which is subject to due diligence, is planned to take effect from 1 February. If given the go ahead, the new combined firm will include 10 offices across the region, with a combined 24 partners and 200 staff.
Managing partner of Morton Fisher Maynard Burton said the merger was planned to increase both firms’ financial strength and facilitate the expansion of the combined firm’s areas of expertise.
Gwynnes has four partners and offices in Willington, Telford and Newport, while Morton Fisher has 20 partners and offices in Worcester, Bromsgrove, Halesowen, Kidderminster, Stourport-on-Severn, Bewdley and Cleobury Mortimer.
