Midge Ure of 1980s band Ultravox is due to perform at the prestigious Inns of Court Charity Ball in June.
The ball was reinstated after a three-year ban was lifted. The Inner Temple withdrew its support for the key fundraising event after it claimed the main tent ruined the lawn. Drunkenness and raucous behaviour were also blamed for losing the support of judges.
Criticism was levelled against the Inner Temple for banning the event which has raised more than £100,000 for charity over the years.
The Middle Temple and Lincoln's Inn, however, have always been in favour of the ball and this year, for the first time, Gray's Inn has also agreed to join the event. This year's ball will raise money for homeless charity Centrepoint.
