London and South West firm Michelmores has launched a financial services and markets practice at the firm's London and Exeter offices.
The eight-lawyer team is led by Philip Ryley, the former head of financial services regulation at Bristol-based TLT Solicitors. The team includes London partners Brian Chadwick, formerly with Ashurst, and Charles Maunder, who was previously at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer.
Michelmores head of corporate Malcolm Dickinson said: "Specialising in particular sectors is key to our business strategy. We've looked at the financial services sector participants and their needs for specialist and bespoke legal services. We believe the introduction of the financial services and markets practice will be of interest to many in the sector."
Michelmores has more than 100 lawyers, including 32 partners, with offices in Exeter, London and Sidmouth, Devon.
