This year, The Lawyer’s annual ranking of the largest UK law firms by turnover is available as an interactive, digital benchmarking tool. For the first time this will allow you to manipulate each data set against the metrics of your choice.
The research used information provided by online legal information provider Lawtel. The statistics, which relate to all civil litigation, save for immigration cases, were obtained for 22 of the UK's leading chambers. An appearance is recorded for a judgment handed down during the last judicial year, which ran from October 1999-July 2000. The outcomes of cross appeals, or short interlocutory applications, have not been recorded. Some barristers have since moved sets, but appearances are credited to the chambers where they held tenancy during the relevant period.
