Memery Crystal makes two redundant in corporate

Ben Moshinsky

Memery Crystal has laid off two fee earners in its corporate department following a round of redundancies.

The firm has also axed two full-time positions in its information and know-how department and three support staff, one of whom was working part-time.

It is the second time that Memery Crystal has made redundancies this year. In July the firm cut two lawyers and two support staff from its corporate group, as well as two fee earners in real estate.

Managing partner Harvey Rands said that the firm was hiring in other areas, despite the downturn in corporate and real estate work. He added: "We've appointed new fee earners in dispute resolution and are continuing recruitment in that department and intellectual property as part of the firm's strategy in the current market conditions."

Memery Crystal posted a turnover of £15m this year, and employs around 100 people.
