LONDON-BASED McKenna & Co has boosted its European practice by forming an alliance with firms in Copenhagen and Sweden.
The firm last week announced it was joining up with Scandinavian practices Berning Schluter Hald and Tissell & Co to provide McKenna's clients with access to legal services in the Nordic region.
McKennas already operates offices across the continent and has a long-standing association with German firm Sigle Loose Schmidt-Diemitz & Partner.
Richard Taylor, partner responsible for the European practice, said McKennas had "benefited greatly" from its co-operative relationship with Sigle Loose, and has used the same model to structure its new associations.
"We aim to offer our clients a service based on the co-operation of individuals who have already worked closely together and who understand both cultural and legal differences which affect cross-border transactions between the countries concerned," he said.
The firm already works with the Scandinavian practices on cross-border deals as well as projects in the Baltic countries and other parts of Central and Eastern Europe.
They have acted together on a number of cases including working as joint legal advisers with Berning Schluter Hald on a PHARE-funded consultancy for Estonia and and advising on an acquisition for a major corporation in Denmark.
