Norton Rose corporate partner Simon Cox is leaving the firm to join US outfit McGuire Woods’ London office.

Simon Cox
Cox, who specialises in emerging markets, has been a partner at Norton Rose’s City base since 2000, advising on M&A deals in central and eastern Europe, Turkey and the Far East.
He led the team advising the shareholders of Turkish shipping outfit UN Ro-Ro on their £640m sale of a 97.6 per cent stake in the company to private equity group Kohlberg Kravis Roberts, where Norton Rose teamed up with local firm Özel & Özel Attorneys At Law (22 October 2007).
The hire follows the recruitment of a corporate partner and a restructuring partner by McGuire Woods in London in 2010, shortly after both partners had left legacy Squire Sanders & Dempsey (11 May 2010).
McGuireWoods launched in the UK in 2009 through a merger with London firm Grundberg Mocatta Rakison and trades as McGuireWoods London (25 March 2009). Its largest office is in Richmond, Virginia.
