McGrigors has boosted its fledgling Manchester office with the addition of an Addleshaw Goddard partner as its first full-time lawyer.

Projects partner Nick Ogden, who joined Addleshaws from DLA Piper two years ago, has joined McGrigors three months after it launched in the North West.

McGrigors managing partner Richard Masters, who succeeded Colin Gray on 1 April, said: "This is very encouraging. Nick is the only full-time partner in the office, although London partner Peter Blackmore is spending most of his time there. By the end of the year we hope to have 10 people there, six of whom will be lawyers."

As ;revealed ;by ;The Lawyer (17 December 2007), McGrigors opened in Manchester - its first English regional launch - on the back of client relationships in the area.

Ogden has a long history in the North West, having joined Liverpool firm Alsop Wilkinson, which merged with ;Yorkshire's ;Dibb Lupton Broomhead to form what became DLA Piper, upon qualification in 1990.

At McGrigors Ogden will focus on building the Manchester practice and will work closely with the firm's UK-wide banking and energy and infrastructure teams.
