Larry Cohens London IP team fights back after team loss to Hammonds
McDermott Will & Emery has underlined its commitment to intellectual property in London after losing almost half its team. The firm is acting on a patent fight between Camelot Group and Lotto. Larry Cohens London IP team last week lost partners Philip Rees and Kathleen Harris as well as three assistants to Hammonds. But the depleted team is now acting for Inter Lotto UK, owner of the HOTSPOT and HOT PICK frequent draw games. Inter Lotto, which sells the games mainly in pubs, is taking action against Camelot over its use of the name HOTPICKS for a new lottery game. Inter Lotto is seeking an injunction against Camelot to change the name of its lottery from HOTPICKS, as well as damages including money for the charitable causes it supports.
