White & Case has furthered its bid to develop a dedicated financial regulation advisory team with the hire of John Reynolds from the London office of US rival McDermott Will & Emery.
Reynolds, previously head of McDermott’s UK international dispute resolution group, joins White & Case as a partner in the financial dispute resolution team.
He will primarily focus on advising financial institutions on contentious matters in response to the increasingly aggressive regulatory environment.
The hire follows that of Norton Rose’s head of financial services Carmen Reynolds in February and furthers the New York firm’s push to develop a dedicated regulatory advisory practice in London.
Combined with Reynolds’ hire, the appointments bring the London financial dispute resolution team to four partners.
Alistair Graham, head of White & Case’s London dispute resolution group, said that “the risks for financial institutions are rising fast” as a result of investors and regulators becoming more aggressive.
