IP partner Gary Moss had been managing partner of UK firm Taylor Joynson Garrett before and throughout its merger with German firm Wessing in 2002, and was the merged firm’s international integration partner until 2006.
Taylor Wessing partner and head of IP Charles Lloyd said: "Gary has been with Taylor Wessing for 18 years and, in that time, has been a valued partner and colleague. He is looking for a new and different challenge at this stage in his career, and we wish him all the best for the future."
Moss will head McDermott’s IP practice from the end of September.
Moss’s appointment marks the latest hire in McDermott’s attempts to bulk up in London after a series of departures.
So far this year, the London office has taken on six new partners, including Squire Sanders & Dempsey partner Stefan Schmitz, Lovells corporate rainmaker Hugh Nineham, and employment partner ;Vanessa Morgan from Allen & Overy.
