McCarthy Tetrault knocked by double partner defection

Canadian firm McCarthy Tetrault’s London office has been hit by the departure of two partners who have left for White & Case.

McCarthy Tetrault’s London managing partner Glen Ireland and Tanneke Heersche, co-head of the firm’s global mining group, are joining White & Case’s energy, infrastructure, project and asset finance group.

Their departures will leave the Canadian firm with just one partner in London which also houses four counsel and seven associates.

Both partners have a particular specialism in the metals and mining industry which has been an area of growth for White & Case.
