Mayer Brown has made up six partners in London as part of a 32-strong round of annual partner promotions.
A further six promotions were made across the firm’s European offices with three in Paris, two in Frankfurt and one in Cologne. Of the 14 US promotions, eight came in Chicago, five in New York and one in Charlotte. Six partners were made up in the firm’s Hong Kong office.
“Each member of this exceptional group of lawyers has earned their promotion by demonstrating outstanding legal skills in their practice area and a commitment to the highest standard of client service, which are defining characteristics of Mayer Brown,” said chairman Herbert Krueger.
The 2010 round of promotions signal a major improvement on 2009 when just 14 associates were promoted worldwide and only one in London.
The six London promotions are:
Angus Duncan, insurance & reinsurance
Richard Goldstein, pensions
Rani Mina, litigation & dispute resolution
Sangeeta Puran, IP
Ian Roberts, insurance & reinsurance
Kristy Zander, litigation & dispute resolution
The appointments take effect from 1 January 2011

Fantastic news in this still tentative business place. Here at Exclusive Human Resources we have noticed that the legal marketplace is becoming more encouraging. Here's hoping that the positivity spreads to the rest of the country and more firms follow suit.
