Mayer Brown loses real estate litigation head to RadcliffesLeBrasseur

Hartley, whose focuses include rent review and professional negligence claims, joins the firm’s property litigation and dispute resolution team as a partner having worked at Mayer Brown since 2008.

His departure for Radcliffes follows a number of exits from Mayer Brown’s London base this year, with corporate partner William Charnley quitting to join King & Spalding earlier this summer (5 July 2012) and structured finance partner Stephen Day joining Cadwalader Wickersham & Taft in August (24 August 2012).

Leveraged finance partner Neil Caddy also resigned from the firm to join US rival Milbank Tweed Hadley & McCloy’s London office (13 August 2012), while finance partner Nicola Marley joined Minter Ellison as its London finance head (2 May 2012).

Radcliffes is known for its expertise in healthcare, business and property services, and private client work. It featured in The Lawyer UK 200 Annual Report this year with an estimated turnover of £16.5m.

Although the main centre of the firm’s operations are in the capital and Leeds, Radcliffes also has a small office in Cardiff. It acquired West End boutique Lithgow Pepper & Eldridge in 2009 and now has 37 partners, 14 of whom are dedicated to the healthcare sector, with 12 focused on business matters and eight dedicated to property law.
