Mayer Brown Rowe & Maw and niche West End firm Barker Gillette have taken leading roles in this week’s employment tribunal claim brought by former Football Association (FA) PA Faria Alam.
Mayer Brown employment partner Nicholas Robertson is advising the FA in its defence of Alam’s claims, which include constructive unfair dismissal, sex discrimination and sexual harrassment.
Barker Gillette’s Nigel Forsyth is acting for Alam on her claim. The London tribunal hearing is expected to last until Tuesday next week.
Alam resigned from her role at the FA last year after it emerged that she had had an affair with England football coach Sven Goran Eriksson, in a scandal that rocked the organisation.
Robertson instructed Littleton Chambers’ Jeffrey Bacon for the FA. Simon Cheetham of Ely Place Chambers is counsel for Alam.
