Mayer Brown hires A&O partner for US derivatives push
Mayer Brown has poached a partner from Allen & Overy (A&O) in New York to lead its US derivatives and structured products practice.

Josh Cohn, who was a partner in A&O’s capital markets practice and specialised in derivatives, will join Mayer Brown’s New York office as head of derivatives and structured products in the US. Cohn will also co-head the firm’s global derivatives and structured products practice.
Mayer Brown finance partner Paul Jorissen said: “Josh is a world class lawyer who will help our clients to shape and position themselves to take advantage of fundamental changes in the regulation of the derivatives industry.”
The hire comes as London partner Edmund Parker is also named a co-head head of the firm’s global derivatives practice.
Before joining A&O, Cohn was a counsel at Cravath Swaine & Moore.
Cohn’s hire is the second time this month that Mayer Brown has dipped into A&O’s talent pool, hiring London finance lawyer Neil Caddy two weeks ago (1 February 2010).
Over the past 12 months Mayer Brown has made 10 lateral partner hires in New York.

Not good for A&O's reputation in NY.
Anyone know how Dan Cunningham is getting on over at Quinn Emanuel?
It's certainly interesting that it's the forrmer Cravath lawyers that are jumping ship.
